McKinzie Neggers, MD
Biography
What first stood out to me about Brown Family Medicine was the variety within their curriculum. I have many interests within FM (global health, women’s health, geriatrics, procedural medicine) and wanted a program that did not limit me. During my interview here, I was thoroughly impressed by the support faculty members offered to residents. I believe we cannot be compassionate to our patients if we are not also compassionate to ourselves and our colleagues, so being surrounded by an encouraging team is important to me. I am confident I will be supported in all of the directions I decide to take my medical career. Lastly, I am inspired by the work done by staff at Brown and want to practice alongside doctors that I aspire to be like. I can’t wait to begin residency with such progressive and passionate doctors!
Despite never conquering a musical instrument, I love music and enjoy going to live shows. I enjoy pottery. I joined a studio during medical school and have grown to the love the ceramics community just as much as I love the craft itself. I love comedy and thoroughly appreciate all the standup performances on Netflix. Laughing is important! I enjoy exercising and am up for anything that gets me out of the house. I like to run, bike, hike and play volleyball. I enjoying practicing yoga despite being terribly inflexible. Lastly, I love to travel. Of all the places I’ve visited, South and Central America are my favorite. One day I would love to proficiently speak Spanish and am excited to see that so many of my Brown colleagues speak several languages!
