Nicholas Lopresto, DO
Biography
Hello! My name is Nick, and I'm thrilled to be joining Brown's family medicine residency. I chose Brown because of the feeling I got on interview day - I immediately felt like I was a part of their family, a network of current providers and alumni that are like-minded, kind, ambitious, and dedicated to their work. There is a shared passion for advocacy work, learning, and a commitment to the underserved. I also love to teach, so I am excited about the opportunity to teach Brown medical students! I am very passionate about LGBTQ healthcare. At my own medical school, I worked with faculty to create an LGBTQ lecture implemented into the core curriculum. I think it's important for upcoming generations of physicians to know about LGBTQ+ health disparities, why they exist, and how we can better address the care of this specific group. My medical interests include gender affirming care, HIV, adolescent medicine, women's health, behavioral health, integrative medicine, academic medicine and many more (gotta love the wide spectrum of family medicine!) I am confident that Brown's family medicine residency will give me incredible experience in all of these areas of interest. Outside of medicine, my interests include musical theater, singing/playing guitar, cooking, spending time outdoors, having friends who let me play with their pets, and exploring new places. I'm excited to get to know Rhode Island, and experience a new city!
