Leah Weisshaar, DO
Biography
Leah Weisshaar earned a Bachelor's of Arts in Psychology and Biology from the University of Albany, SUNY before earning her medical degree at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine.
She served as an Anatomy & OMM Teaching Fellow, and as a Scribe Ambassador, training new scribes and acting as a
liaison between leadership and clinical teams. Weisshaar was a Compassion Training Workshop Facilitator, co-leading peer-led workshops on self-compassion and a Wellness Volunteer for Kindness Champions. She also provided care at a hospice home and as a childcare provider.
Weisshaar was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society and graduated summa cum laude. She received a Presidential Award for Undergraduate Research for her honors thesis on eye movements, resulting in a peer-reviewed publication. Weisshaar is committed to providing patient-centered, longitudinal care and building trust and advocacy for her patients. She values the mind-body-spirit connection and preventative medicine.
Outside of medicine she is known as a “Curator of Memories", enjoying crafting, photography, decorating, and planning events. She also played intramural flag football and was a competitive cheerleader for 12 years.
