Family Care Center
The Family Care Center (FCC) opened in 1975 as a teaching facility and practice base for the Brown Family Medicine Residency Program. The Center provides the highest quality of comprehensive and continuous care to patients and their families throughout the life cycle, with the goal of reducing health disparities for the underserved communities of Pawtucket and Central Falls. The FCC, located in Pawtucket on the campus of the old Memorial Hospital, offers both primary care and acute care to their almost 12,500 active patients.
The Family Care Center is where residents from the Pawtucket site hold their continuity clinics and participate in outpatient specialty clinics. Family Medicine residents are assigned a panel of patients with whom they work for the length of their residency. Residents follow their patients in the hospital, nursing home or at home as appropriate.
Thundermist Health Center
Thundermist Health Center is a Federally Qualified Community Health Center, serving three communities -- Woonsocket, West Warwick, and South County -- for 50 years. Thundermist Health Center's goal is to bring healthcare to the people who need it most; nearly 40% of Thundermist's 42,000 patients in 2013 were uninsured.
