Maeve Hickey, DO
Biography
I was drawn to Brown’s integrated health equity, LGBTQIA+ curriculum and being a RHEDI site to train future abortion care providers. I knew I would able to keep up my passion for osteopathic manipulative medicine at the Warwick site, and continue growing in my passion for women’s health and supporting people who can become pregnant through their family planning journeys. I would also be able to work in a clinic that serves underrepresented through a federally qualified health center like Thundermist. Brown had options for all of my “scatter-brained” interests as I talked about on the interview trail. I was hoping to find a program that felt welcoming to all the parts of who I am and what I hope to become as a learning and growing doctor and Brown was the one program I could see all of my passions coming together.
Outside of medicine, I enjoy Hiking, Camping, Cross country skiing, Traveling, Playing board games, crying to Taylor Swift, Collecting stickers, plants, rocks and crystals, dabbling in astrology, eating plant based, drinking lots of coffee (one of my goals is to learn to make lattes/latte art/use an espresso machine), working on sustainability, practicing my survival skills while camping (I used to be a wilderness therapy guide to teens!)
