Maria Johnson, MD
Biography
Maria Johnson earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Saint Joseph's University and earned a medical degree from the Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University.
She served on the Triage Committee for JeffHOPE, managing care for the unhoused population and escalating emergencies. She is also a Curriculum Co-Lead for
a health outreach program for underprivileged high school students. Johnson provides acute medical care at free clinics and mentors minority female premedical students through "Black Girl White Coat". She is also working to publish an op-ed on IUD placement pain management and has conducted research on the impact of medically tailored meal programs on chronic health conditions.
Johnson's primary interests in Family Medicine are women’s health, obstetrics, and advocacy for marginalized communities.
Outside of medicine she enjoys cooking, discovering new teas, gaming (recreating architectural plans in The Sims), ballet, and horse care.
