Nailah Tucker, MD
Biography
Howdy! My name is Nailah Tucker. I’m a proud native of Arlington, Texas. I am a proud graduate of Tougaloo College in Jackson, MS, where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2019. Following graduation, I matriculated into Warren Alpert medical school at Brown University to fulfill my goal of becoming a physician.
During my time at Tougaloo, I discovered a deep passion for addressing health disparities, advancing women’s health, and supporting underrepresented minorities in medicine. I carried this mission with me into medical school, where I served as a Rhode Island Medical Navigator, co-founded Doulas@Tougaloo, and was honored to be selected as a Hassenfeld Child Health Innovation Institute Scholar. This fueled my passion for family medicine and giving back to the community.
I chose Brown because Rhode Island and the Brown community has truly become home. I am passionate about making a lasting positive change in RI while working alongside like-minded individuals. I am thrilled to continue this journey as a Family Medicine resident in Pawtucket while working toward my goal of becoming a full-spectrum family medicine physician committed to delivering comprehensive, compassionate care.
Outside of medicine, I am the mother to a spunky two-year-old who is my pride and joy. I am very excited for my son and fiancé to now be joining me in the beautiful ocean state! While Texas will always be home, I’ve learned that life simply would not be complete without my daily Dunkin'.
I am incredibly excited to begin this next chapter, growing both personally and professionally while training alongside such a passionate and inspiring group of physicians.
