Rachel Brown, DO
Biography
As a New England native, I’m incredibly excited to return to the area to complete my residency training at Brown! I was born and raised outside of Boston, MA, and earned my undergraduate degree in bioinformatics and biotechnology from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Before medical school, I worked as an analytics engineer and project manager at the Broad Institute, where I helped develop genomic analysis tools to advance health and biomedical research. I went on to attend medical school at Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine in Las Cruces, NM.
When it came time to choose a residency program, I knew I wanted one that emphasized care for underserved populations, strong community engagement, and full-spectrum training. After rotating at the Warwick site of the Brown Family Medicine program during my fourth year, I knew I had found the right fit! Everyone I met was genuinely committed to their patients, passionate about teaching, and invested in creating a supportive and collaborative environment. It was clear this was a place where I could grow both professionally and personally, all while serving a community close to home.
Outside of medicine, I enjoy diving into a good book, experimenting with new baking recipes, and spending quality time with family and friends. I also love exploring new restaurants, taking beach walks with our dog, and staying active.
