Family Medicine

Brown Family Medicine was my top choice from my very first time hearing about it, and my interest in being a part of this program only grew with each new curriculum highlight I learned about and interaction I had with residents and faculty. 

This program not only has robust educational foundations in all the aspects of FM as primary care, but also includes ample opportunities for training in the specialties that interest me most, including full spectrum sexual and reproductive care, gender affirming care, HIV care, addiction medicine, and OMM. I was privileged enough to do a fourth year rotation at Kent and Thundermist and immediately felt the perfect combination of a supportive environment with challenging academic engagement from faculty and residents alike.

 Family Medicine has always appealed to me as the perfect intersection between the science of medicine, the art of healthcare, and the upstream impact of advocacy and education. Brown is definitely a place that trains providers to think critically, act compassionately, and work towards a more radically just healthcare system.
