Sonya Levine, DO
Biography
My name is Sonya Levine, and I am so thrilled to be joining the Brown Family Medicine family. I majored in Dance and History at Wesleyan University and intended to pursue a career in the arts, but later realized that I wanted to apply my interests in the body and its ability to tell stories toward a medical lens. I completed my postbaccalaureate premedical studies at Columbia University, and moved to Philadelphia to attend PCOM for medical school, where my interest in treating the whole person bloomed. I chose Brown because of its commitment to the surrounding diverse community, robust reproductive health and justice training, emphasis on advocacy and longitudinal care, and warm, familial environment. I am ecstatic to begin my training at such a wonderfully inclusive place.
In my free time, I am an avid reader, amateur baker, musical theater fan, and newly-minted sourdough bread enthusiast. I love to tap dance, spend time watching classic movies with my fiancé, Henry, and explore new hikes with our mini bernedoodle puppy, Iroh.
