Souyma Sabbella, DO
Biography
Soumya Sabbella earned a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst before earning a medical degree at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Sabella served as an OMM/Anatomy Teaching Fellow, teaching gross anatomy and clinical skills to junior students. She was also a Trip Leader for a global health service trip to Panama. Sabella also served as a Suture Clinic Coordinator and was a student facilitator for compassion training workshops. She is a member of the Gold Humanism Honor Society (GHHS) and received a $5,000 grant from the American Osteopathic Foundation for her research on prenatal OMT for the prevention of postpartum hemorrhage.
Sabella is interested in Family Medicine because she is drawn to the breadth of care in family medicine, including adolescent medicine, chronic
disease management, and serving diverse patient populations.
Outside of medicine she likes to read (Sarah J. Maas novels), bake (Great British Baking Show fan), run, and explore new trails.
