Biography
Originally from Honolulu, Hawaii, Carolyn earned her BA in Public Health Studies from Johns Hopkins University in 2011 and her medical degree from Loma Linda University in 2018. She subsequently completed her Family Medicine residency at Ventura County Medical Center in 2021. She joins Brown as a Global Health Faculty Development Fellow with clinical interests in maternal and child health, women's health, tropical medicine and point of care ultrasound. Through her fellowship training, she hopes to explore development of health and medical education systems with emphasis on bidirectionality, equity and resiliency. In her spare time, she enjoys exploring the outdoors, reading and traveling.
