Devon Hughes, MD
Biography
Hi, my name's Devon, and I'm originally from the SF Bay Area. I went to undergrad at UNC-Chapel Hill where I studied Hispanic Linguistics and Biology. I hopped on over to Nashville to attend Meharry Medical College, a school with an incredibly rich history of community service and working with patients who haven't had their needs addressed by mainstream healthcare systems. Naturally, I felt inspired to continue that legacy, and family medicine is the perfect specialty to help me pursue that goal.
I feel so fortunate to be joining the family medicine team here at Brown. The faculty and residents create an amazingly welcoming atmosphere, and everyone is uniquely passionate about their own piece of family medicine. My interests include working with Spanish-speaking patients, palliative care, and addiction medicine.
Outside of medicine, I enjoy spending time outside: running, hiking, biking, or lounging around a park. I'm a lifelong tennis player and look forward to seeing what the tennis community in Providence has to offer. I also enjoy reading, listening to music, and tending to the jungle of houseplants in my apartment.
