Emma Long, DO
Biography
I chose this program because of the warm and inclusive culture among the staff, residents, and attendings. The Brown/Kent family medicine program offers strong training in subjects I am passionate about such as family planning, addiction medicine, osteopathic manipulative medicine, and LGBTQ+ health. I also knew I wanted to train in a community hospital with a history of caring for people of all cultures and socioeconomic classes and believe I have found that in Kent. Many of my family members were born at Kent and are cared for by Kent doctors, so this placement feels meant to be.
In the summer, you can find me biking around the city exploring thrift stores and coffee shops with friends. In the winter, I am at the closest ski slope reliving my high school ski racing days.
