Family Medicine

Julia Hofer, MD earned a Bachelor of Science, Biochemistry, earning summa cum laude from Tufts University. Hofer received her medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine. 

Hofer chose Brown University & Kent Hospital for residency because of the opportunity to receive hands on, full-spectrum family medicine training at a program which values reproductive and social justice. The sense of community among the program's residents and the faculty support drew Hofer to Brown Family Medicine and after living in the Boston area for the past 10 years, is excited to be staying nearby in Providence. 

Hofer's family medicine interests include reproductive health care, family planning, and addiction medicine. 

Outside of medicine, Hofer enjoys cooking new recipes, reading, going to the beach with her goggles to look at hermit crabs, yoga, and eating Flaming Hot Cheetos while watching television with friends.
