Lindsay Hock, DO
Biography
I knew that the Brown Family Medicine program was the place for me as soon as I heard Dr. El Reyess' motto of "once you become a doctor, you become a leader." I wanted to find somewhere that valued leadership, strong patient connections, advocacy, and community involvement just as much as I do, and I know that I found that here at Brown! Furthermore, the enthusiasm, warmth, and camaraderie from the residents and staff on interview day was incredible. Coming from a career before medical school, I've experienced how good team dynamics can truly elevate your learning experience and daily life; I'm honored to have found such fun, passionate, and hardworking people to learn from!
I'm incredibly excited about our program's dedication to underserved populations, our strong training in women's health (especially as a RHEDI site to train abortion care providers), our Osteopathic Medicine clinic, and the thoroughness of training in each area of Family Medicine. As someone who has many interests within Family Medicine, I know that I will be both competent and confident in whichever aspects I plan to practice in.
Outside of medicine, I love watching and playing sports. I'm a huge Boston sports fan and love going to Bruins and Red Sox games. I play field hockey and golf, and my five year personal goal is to play ice hockey! Other than sports, I'm always looking to try new recipes and restaurants, but I'll never turn down an iced coffee, dino nuggets, or an Uncrustable (don't tell my mom that I'm wasting the crust). I also love to cook, find new adventures with family and friends, try new breweries, and go to the beach with our dog!
