Radelys German, MD

Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth, She/Her

Biography

Hello! My name is Radelys, and I grew up in Boston, Massachusetts. I was born in the Dominican Republic and my family and I came over to the USA when I was less than a year old. Growing up I spent most of my time dancing ballet and singing after school. I attended Dartmouth College for undergraduate education where I majored in Latin American, Latino, and Caribbean Studies and minored in Hispanic Studies. I completed my master’s in biomedical sciences at Barry University and my medical training at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth. During my time in medical school I was involved in working with Spanish-speaking and underserved populations in the region. It was during this time I developed a passion for serving families and communities. I was able to work with Spanish speaking, immigrant, as well as underserved communities. I had the opportunity to merge my undergraduate major and minor and my medical training by focusing on health care access in Latino and immigrant communities. I realized how much need there was for providing access to medical care in underserved communities. I decided to pursue a career that would allow me to provide comprehensive medical care that included gender health, LGBTQ+ health, reproductive health, and preventative health.

Brown’s dedication to health equity and advocacy for underserved communities is what drew me to the program. Learning that I would be joining the family medicine program at Brown was the best news I could have hoped for. I am excited to spend the next few years with my co-residents developing essential skills to be family medicine physicians. Outside of medicine, I enjoy singing, running, spending time with friends, and watching series.
